Polk's RM line of speakers are designed to be used together as part of a home theater surround setup. The speakers feature a titanium or pewter metallic finish. Th RM8000T/RM50T are the upgrade to the RM7400T/RM40T.

Product Shot 2 Each speaker has 4 x 4 1/2" mid/woofer drivers, and a single 1" silk/polymer tweeter (the RM7400/RM40T have only 2 mid drivers). The speakers are magnetically shielded to prevent interference, allowing you to place these speakers close to you TV. The curved back to the speaker's case is designed to increase the amount of dispersion from the resulting sound creating a more even volume landscape across a room.

These speakers are available in your choice of metallic finishes, with the titanium finish using model # RM800T, and the pewter finish using model # RM50T. The original MSRP for these speakers was $850 / pair when released in 2004, but now can be found for around $550. They were featured on Woot for $399.99 / pair on September 14th, 2007.

Erik: #polk_audio_rm8000t_rm50t Wow. What a great deal on Woot today for these speakers. For $400, you get yourself a pretty sweet pair of speakers. The bass is better on these than the RM7400T/RM40T going down to 42 Hz compared to 55 Hz. They also add bi-amplification and bi-wiring options with the dual binding posts. Sep 14, 07
