Polk Audio R50
$640.00
Released October, 2002
The Pros:Fantastic sound quality for the price point - sufficient bass presence with warm overtone mix. Sound imaging technology helps to widen left/right polarity - emulates the presence of a center channel. Integrates smoothly with most standalone home theater products.
The Cons:Tweeters seem to be overly sensitive - not fit to channel maximum volume levels. Considerably long break-in period - noticeable increase in output quality after several months.
Polk's R series of speakers are their entry level line of home speakers. These speakers are designed to be part of a starter home theater system or for anyone looking for good sound on a tighter budget.
