Polk Audio Monitor 60
$650.00
Released July, 2004
The Pros:Tall profile of the speakers puts the center of the sound around the seated listener's ear. Open, spacious and detailed sound that provides realistic reproduction of the original recording. Enough bass for music listening if details are more important than chest-thumping power.
The Cons:Only 2-way crossover design (competitors feature 3-way and 2.5 way at this price point). Bass is a little too light for home theater use. Narrow and tall design is relatively easy to knock over - need to ensure that kids won't be playing near them.
The Monitor 60 speaker is part of Polk's Monitor series speaker that is a throwback to their 1970s era Monitor speaker line. These speakers are designed to provide a balance of performance and value whilst maintaining a simple, sturdy construction.
