Pioneer TAD Reference One

$60,000.00 Released January, 2011

Product Shot 1The TAD Reference One is a high-end floorstanding speaker from the Pioneer Electronics company. Designed in conjunction with renowned audio engineer Andrew Jones, this model has the distinction of being one of the most expensive speakers ever commercially released.

Utilizing a three-way vented cabinet design with a 120-watt power handling, the Reference One employs TAD's Coherent Sound Transducer driver technology that enables a frequency rage of 250 hertz to 100 kilohertz. Both the midrange and tweeter speakers feature a concentric beryllium insert - the former with a 16-centimeter cone and the latter with a 3.5-centimeter dome. The unit's subwoofer includes it's own 10-inch dual-cone insert, with all three elements working to create a clear and powerful mix of low, middle and high frequencies. Single point sourcing on the middle and high outputs minimizes the likelihood of impedance and wave interference, producing a highly reliable sound image with a wide, full soundstage.
