The Cons:Still requires a subwoofer for a powerful low end (specifically for movie watching). Somewhat expensive for the majority of consumers. Somewhat too simple and limiting for the majority of audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts.

The Klipsch XF-48 is a high-performance floorstanding loudspeaker that falls at the top of the Icon X series offered by Kilpsch.  These speakers also have a built in 100W amplifier, eliminating the need for an A/V receiver.

Product Shot 2 This allows you to plug these speakers directly into your TV or iPod with the line-level RCA jack.  There are also conventional high-level speaker binding posts. The other key feature is the round Tractrix horn, which is connected to a 0.75" titanium diaphragm compression driver to give a smooth and precise high frequency response.  For bass frequencies, there are dual 5.25" fiberblass cone woofers, as well as dual passive radiators for enhanced bass performance. The sleek and slender aluminum enclosure comes in a black anodized finish with high-glass black accents to fit any decor.  The Klipsch XF-48 comes with a removable black grill and is sold individually, or as a pair for $2,498. The Klipsch XF-48 is also sold as the L/R speakers in the Klipsch XF-48 Home Theater System.
